Tarmac Building Products Tarmac Building Products required new drawbar outfits to update their transport operation. They chose Volvo, Hiab and Truckmate to implement that decision. The first seven Volvos were delivered into Hiab's premises where the subframes and cranes were fitted, and then the trucks were sent to Charlton Bodies to meet the Truckmates which had been delivered there direct from factory.

Charltons built the bodywork onto the Trucks & Truckmates, and the whole outfit finished with Tarmac's livery. Weekly conferences between all parties ensured that the whole operation ran smoothly for on-time delivery. After the first seven outfits were completed, Tarmac were so pleased with the results, along with how smoothly everything went, that work began on the next batch without a break. |
